SUMMARY:Inauguration of the Viadrina Center of Polish and Ukrainian Studies
DESCRIPTION:With the Viadrina Center of Polish and Ukrainian Studies (VCPU)
 \, the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) has established a 
 new central academic institution. Its aim is to create new opportunities f
 or an intensified research of Ukrainian and Polish history\, culture\, pol
 itics and society in European and global entanglements.\n\nThe Viadrina Ce
 nter of Polish and Ukrainian Studies is headed by Prof. Dr. Dagmara Jajeś
 niak-Quast\, Professor of Interdisciplinary Polish Studies\, and Prof. Dr.
  Andrii Portnov\, Professor of Entangled History of Ukraine.\n\nAt the ina
 uguration ceremony\, the directors of the VCPU and the participants in the
  panel discussion will share their thoughts on the perspectives for Polish
  and Ukrainian Studies at the Viadrina and worldwide.\n\nThe event will be
  in English and will be streamed live on this site. All interested parties
