 e will contribute to the understanding of the tragedies of the last\nce
 ntury and the inclusion of memories about present tragedies into the gen
 eral memory paradigm of Ukrainian and European society. The conference c
 an influence the memory culture in different European countries due to an
 alytical approaches and well-thought-out presentations of academic papers
 . The conference will contribute to the development of clear and appropr
 iate terminology to describe the character current Russian-Ukrainian war
 .\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe aim of the conference is to analyze the causes and 
 consequences of memorial discourses about past and present tragedies\, as
  well as the commemorative practices that have emerged from them.\n\nMai

 ectual component of the holistic presentation of the project "Bykivnia\,
  Babyn Yar\, Bucha - Between the Massacre and the Memory of It".\n\nAbo
 ut the Project: The idea of the project is to discuss the collective m
 emory of сommunism\, Nazism and Russia‘s contemporary crimes committed
  during the ongoing war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine throu
 gh focusing on the three places of the mass executions of the civilian
  population around Kyiv:\n\n 	Bykivnia – victims of communism who were e
 xecuted in the years 1937-1941.\n 	Babyn Yar – Victims of Nazism\, kill
 ed in the years 1941-1943.\n 	Bucha – Victims of rashism\, killed in th
 e short period from 03.03 to 31.03.2022.\n\nThe project draws public att
 ention to the traumatic legacy of the occupation of\nUkraine by the tot
 alitarian communist and Nazism regimes and their impact on\ncollective mem
 ory. It also helps to find tools to understand and explain the reasons f
 or the crimes of the current authoritarian regime in Russia.\nThe projec
 t offers the opportunity to look at communism\, National Socialism and th
 e current authoritarian regime in Russia from a historical retrospective
 \, to compare their ideologies\, objectives and terror methods and at the
  same time to try to develop mechanisms to counteract and prevent simila
 r crimes in the future.\n\nWe invite you to an open dialogue not only abo
 ut our past\, but also about the\npresent and the future that we want to
